Título: A comparison between experimental results and numerical simulations in a Natural Convection Loop

Resumo: In this work the experimental results of transient single-phase and two-phase flow tests performed at Nuclear Engineering Institute’s Natural Convection Loop are presented. The loop is a reduced scale model similar to an advanced PWR passive residual heat removal prototype system in power, pressure and length. The experimental data shows the temperature measurements are compared with numerical simulations in order to validate a thermal hydraulic computer code. A brief description of the Natural Convection Loop, comments and discussions about the phenomena observed during the tests are included.
