Título: Photoconductivity in AL2O3 induced by gamma-radiation

Resumo: The present work deals with the eletric current induced in single - crystal and pollycristalline Al2O3 by gamma-radiation from the decay of fission products in the fuel elements of a nuclear reactor. the results obtained agree with the model proposed by Rose for the photoconductivity of an insulator containing an exponential distribution of trapping states inthe forbidden gap. Transients were observed both voltage and radiation level variations. The voltage dependence of the photocurrent is non-linear (fractional power dependence)
